About PETTIFORDS OF PERSON COUNTY, NC
Please sign in to see more.
This webpage is the continuation of the Pettiford & Cates family history book published on Jun 12, 1991. The primary concept of this site is to promote family knowledge & unity amongst the remaining Pettiford families.

You will see the various lineage of Pettifords grouped by patriach & sometimes church affiliations. Whereas the Granville county Pettifords founded "Pettiford Grove Baptist Church in 1866, the Pettiford families of Person County were early pioneers in many area churches as well. For instance you should see Clegg's Chapel, New Hope-Person, Glenn's Grove, New Red Mountain, Pine Hill, Mill Hill,Obies Chapel (Grove),Shady Hill, Saint James-Leasburg & "some" Young's Chapel.

The largest of the Person County Pettiford families as it stands now would be the family of the late William Bill Pettiford(Pettifoot) born 1852. One of the founders of Clegg's Chapel Baptist Church, William was the son of Sallie Pettiford born 1830. The father of 23(1870-1916) & grandfather of hundreds, William Bill Pettiford's legacy lives on

You should also see various family names such as Allen, Torain, Cates, Royster, Parker, Snipes, Beasley, Long, Holeman, Sneed, Bradsher, etc.

The privacy of all living persons is protected & to join this site you'll need a password which has to be issued through email by the administrator of this site.

Please enjoy & give us your positive feedback as well as suggestions & corrected names & family info.

Throughout my 25+ years of genealogy research I've been fortunate to be a member of such a loving, upstanding family such as the Pettiford family. It(family history )is my "passion" & the love I have for my Pettifords hopefully will be shown.

Sincerely,

Phillip A. Rosser(Cousin Tony)
Great Great Grandson of William "Bill" Pettiford
